Join us this Saturday, May 5, for the May 5 meeting of the Green Lake County Dems & Friends. Frank Buress who is running for the 41st State Assembly seat now occupied by incumbent Republican Joan Ballweg, will be the main speaker.

Buress, from Westfield, has already established a Facebook page and he and a small army of volunteers have been out gathering signatures for his registration filing. The meeting, which is open to the public, starts at 10 a.m. at the Caestecker Public Library, 518 Hill Street, Green Lake. In addition to making a short presentation, Buress, right in photo, will be available to answer questions.

Also on the agenda for the meeting are updates on a discussion on our new website and enhanced Facebook pages. The website is undergoing final testing but will be available for viewing on Saturday morning. The Facebook page, set up by member Joe Kallas, can be viewed here.

Wednesday evening, Buress was one of the candidates featured at a 4-county candidates forum in Montello sponsored by the Marquette County Dems. Also speaking Wednesday were Kelda Roys and William Davis III.

A gubernatorial candidate, Roys, wants to represent us on the ballot in November, First, however, she and about 15 other Dems will square off in the August 14 Democratic Party Primary to earn the right to take on incumbent Republican Governor Scott Walker. Check out her website. Davis, from Madison, is seeking the Lieutenant Governor chair now held by Republican Rebecca Kleefisch.

Next meeting for the Green Lake County Dems & Friends is June 2. Check our Facebook page fore up-to-date information on the meeting’s agenda.
